A step back in history.

I was laying in bed last night thinking back to the first shipment of Zuriick slip-ons we designed back in the summer of 2005. We made 50 pair of each color. We sold them at two local stores and to friends. We had to put the air holes in ourselves on my kitchen floor because we couldn't communicate well enough with the factory to explain exactly what we wanted. We hand sewed all the bags we shipped them in, which may not seem like much, but we did this up until about six months ago. We wanted to make shoes with color that were simple and slim. We've since cut back on bright colors in shoes and added color in with our tee shirts. The new Ake Lavender slip-on that just came in has brought back some good memories of when we were shoe making virgins. I thought we should share some of the photos from our first shipment so you can see where we started.

New Zuriick Arrivals!

We received our new shipment of shoes yesterday morning. We're shipping our stockists as fast as possible. Check your local stores next week to get in on the action. We have a couple styles online for sale, but please use our online store as your last resort.

Mode Trunk Show

We attended a trunk show at a local store back in November. This gentleman was kind enough to let us photo him wearing the Ake Ghost White slip-on that he has obviously put a lot of miles on. We would love to see more photos like these. If you have any you want to share of the condition your Zuriicks are in, send them in.

UPDATE: I was down in Provo last night watching my dear friends, Return to Sender, melt faces and saw Josh at the show. Since I didn't meet him at the trunk show, I introduced myself so I wouldn't have to refer to him as "gentleman". Everyone, this is Josh. Thanks Josh for liking your Zuriicks.

Oh, Las Vegas thou art such a blessed city of sin.

There's a really classy saying "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas", well we don't do anything that can't be shared anyway. Unless you consider eating at your favorite restaurants shameful. We did however have the amazing opportunity to view the Eagles of Death Metal at the Beauty Bar downtown our first night. If you're jealous, you should be. $3 Bud's and a free EDM show, doesn't get much better than that in Vegas.

The last two times we've been to Vegas we've stayed at the fabulous Luxor Hotel and Casino. Not for any other reason than we love the inclinators especially when we're inebriated. In case you aren't sure what an inclinator is, like I was the first time I heard of them, they're elevators that go sideways. The only way you know which way you're going is by which side of the inclinator you slam into when it starts moving.

Aside from the Luxor, we spent some time at the Las Vegas Convention Center also known as the LVCC, maybe you've heard of it. Pool was a great time. We had a great response to the new line. In other news, our new shipment of shoes are coming in next week. We're taking pre-orders for the Beata, the Albert and the Ake in charcoal.
